Russel H. Harpest
Russel H. Harpest, 94, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday
morning, March 30, 2013 at Oakley House in Greenville, Ohio.
He was born October 23, 1918 in Darke County, son of the late Clarence
and Vera (Hern) Harpest. In addition to his parents he was preceded in
death by his wife, Martha B (Beery) Harpest on April 5, 2004; a
grandson, Ted Harpest; a brother, Harold Harpest; and sisters, Melba
Rice and Ruth Schlechty.
Russel was a retired tool and die maker having worked for Detroit Tap
and Tool. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Greenville.
He is survived by his children, Gloria Harpest of Greenville, Fred
(Sharon) Harpest of Greenville, and Rosalie (Tom) Wade of Stuart, FL;
grandchildren, Lyndie (Nathan) Sabin, Karie Harpest, Kaci Harpest,
Nicole Meisner, Nathan Meisner, Philip Meisner, and Holden Meisner;
great grandchildren, Austin, Adrienne, and Abrielle Sabin; a brother,
Lloyd Harpest; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, April 5, at the Oliver-Floyd
Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bill Baker officiating. Burial
will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8
p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the
Faith Baptist Church.
