Anthony Paul “Tony” Monnin, 70 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on
Sunday April 7, 2013 at 1:05 AM at the Versailles Health Care
Center. He was born July 21, 1942 in Shelby County, Ohio the son
of the late Leroy & Bernice (Peltier) Monnin. He served in
the United States Army. He Owned and operated Tonys’ Body Shop
& Auto Parts for many years.
He was a Former Wayne Twp. Trustee; A life member of AMVETS Post 66;
life member of Treaty City Motorcycle Club; member of the Versailles
American Legion; member of Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Marlene Drees.
He is survived by his children & spouses: Lorrie & Philip
Croswell of Gahanna, Ohio, David Monnin of Virginia Beach, VA, Daniel
Monnin of Versailles, Debbie & Jim Francis of Versailles,;
grandchildren: Rachel, Sara, Katherine, Andrew Croswell, Kathryn
Monnin, Lauren Monnin, Matthew, Danielle Francis; sister & brother
in law: June & Dave Walters of Wapakoneta, Ohio; brothers
& sisters in law: Wayne Monnin of Tipp City, Ohio, Leslie
Remy Monnin of Versailles, Dale Monnin of Versailles, Don & Mary
Monnin of Russia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at
10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church 14 E. Wood Street Versailles,
Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Vincent Celebrant. Burial will follow in
St. Valbert Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to
8:00 PM on Tuesday April 9, 2013 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on
Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
Veterans graveside services will be conducted by the Versailles
Veterans Honor Guard Memorial contributions may be made to Masses in
Tonys’ Memory.
