Larry D. Resor
Larry D. Resor passed away December 4, 2013 at his home surrounded by
his family. He was a cancer survivor and had courageously fought
infection in his body for over 20 years.
He was born in Union City, Indiana on July 30, 1940 to Orville and Ruby
(Alley) Resor. He graduated from New Madison High School in 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia (Resor)
Blinn, a brother Gary Resor.
He worked at Sheller-Globe, Hardy Division in Union City, Indiana for
over 32 years until its closing and later Corning Glass.
He had a great sense of humor and was quite a jokester. He loved
to grow flowers and garden, especially growing big home grown
tomatoes. He was an avid softball pitcher on several teams in the
area in his younger years and also coached girl’s softball for many
years. He loved to go camping, watch NASCAR racing and listen to
country music. He had great love for his family and
friends. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great
grandson. He was a member of the First Congregational Christian
Church in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane (Peden) Resor, son Scott
Resor, daughter Lori Lloyd (Bryan) both of Greenville, Ohio and
daughter Angie Resor of WI. Grandchildren Liz Resor (Jeremy Lovy),
Olivia Resor, Josh Magoto, Molly Magoto, Antonio Resor, step
grandchildren Tavis Lloyd, Caitlin Lloyd and great grandson Mason
Hart. A sister Fadonna Campbell of FL. and a brother Terry Resor
of Greenville, Ohio, a special brother in law, Dick Peden, and aunts,
uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Services will be held on Monday December 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Zechar
Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Joe Soley
officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the
Heart Hospice.
