Delbert A. Stephan
Delbert A. Stephan age 86, of North Star, Ohio passed away at 2:00 A.M.
on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Versailles Health Care Center.
Delbert was born September 21, 1927 in Darke County, Ohio to the late
Louis A. & Clara Belle (Lanich) Stephan.
Delbert is survived by his daughters & son-in-law, Debra J. &
Dennis Seger of Tipp City, Ohio and Diana L. Gilmore of Versailles,
Ohio; grandchildren, Kimberly Seger, Carmen Seger, Eric Seger, Jill
& Zachary Mann, Gregory Gilmore and Abby Gilmore;
great-granddaughter, Reagan Mann; sister & brother-in-law, Arlene
& Gerald Sharp of Greenville, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Zoe Ann Stephan
of North Star, Ohio and Judy Stephan of Arcanum, Ohio; brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, Bernard & Carol Class of Greenville, Ohio,
Robert & Diana Class of Greenville, Ohio and Roger & Marj Class
of Greenville, Ohio, Phyllis & Jim Holsinger of Covington, Ohio and
David & Sandy Class of Marysville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Delbert is also preceded in death by his
wife, Helen L. (Class) Stephan on April 14, 2009 whom he married
January 14, 1956; granddaughter, Jessica Gilmore; brothers, Frederick,
Edward and Richard Stephan; and sister-in-law, Ethel Stephan.
Delbert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a
lifelong farmer. Delbert was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran
Church in North Star. Delbert was an avid NACAR fan, loved the outdoors
and working his land and helping others.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 2,
2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 13495 Greenville-St. Marys Rd.
Versailles with Pastor Laura L. Shreffler officiating. Burial will
follow in Brock Cemetery in Darke County with Military graveside
services conducted by the North Star American Legion Post#174. The
family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at
Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles and Thursday morning from 9:00
to 10:00 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to Crayons to Classrooms 1511 Kuntz Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45404
or St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Star. Condolences for the family
