Rodney E. Helmer,
Rodney E. Helmer, 66, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born February 23, 1946, in Greenville,Ohio, son of the late
Ralph and Thelma (Coby) Helmer. In addition to his parents he is
preceded in death by his brothers, Charles,and Jackson Helmer and
Ronnie Ray.
Rodney was retired from Pax Steel in Coldwater, Ohio where
he was Tow Motor Operator. He was a member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints and Steelworkers Local #4839.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Debra (Graham),
whom he married August 6, 1988; his children, Bruce (Tonya Beasley)
Glaze of Greenville, Todd (Cheryl) Stevens of Greenville, Elecia Pitman
of Denton, TX, Ronnie (Rhonda) Helmer of Celina, Jerry (Melissa Frech)
Wert of Sevona, OH, Kary (Brandy) Helmer of Celina, Robert (Diana)
Shaffer, of Greenville, Andre Shaffer of Greenville, Steve (Lisa)
Shaffer of Greenville; 29 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren;
brothers and sisters, Ralph (Janet) Helmer, Lucreda (Joe) Brandt,
Shelva Rose , Joan (Donald) Holdeman all of Greenville, Dick Helmer of
Troy, Bob (Joyce) Helmer of Troy, and Beatrice Hergenrather of Piqua.
The family will receive friends at Oliver-Floyd Funeral
Home in Greenville, Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The family requests memorial contributions be given to Darke County
Hospice.
