James L. Hiestand
James L. Hiestand, 71 , of Rossburg, passed away Tuesday evening,
January 15, 2013 at his residence.
He was born March 26, 1941 in Rossburg, Ohio, son of the late Don B.
and Mary E. (Lorton) Hiestand. In addition to his parents he is
preceded in death by his brother-in law, Frank Link and 2 nieces.
Jim was retired from Northwest Airlines where he had been an aircraft
mechanic. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church,
Burkettsville, Ohio and North Star American Legion. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his children, Chad C. (fiancee, Tanya) Hiestand
of Rossburg, Nichole Heiser of Eaton, Elisha Borders of Eaton; 10
grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Judy) Hiestand of
Ansonia, Ronald (Joyce) Hiestand of North Star, and Steve (Marge)
Hiestand of Rossburg; sisters, Betty Link of Cave Creek, AZ, Diana
(Frank) Huber of North Star, Julia (Darrel) Meyer of New Weston,
and Jeanie (Jeff) Mathew of Lima; an uncle, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January
19, at the St. Bernard Catholic Church on Burkettsville, Ohio. Burial
with full military honors will follow in the St. Bernard Church
Cemetery in Burkettsville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4-9
p.m. with prayer services at 3:45 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. till 10
a.m.
