Elvin K. Hollinger

Elvin K. Hollinger age 93, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Versailles Health Care Center. Elvin was born December 6, 1919 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Noah F. & Mary (Holsinger) Hollinger.

Elvin is survived by a daughter, Linda Deeter of Versailles; son & daughter-in-law, Dan & Shirley Hollinger of Greenville; son-in-law, Franklin Gantt of Arcanum; step sons & step daughters-in-law, Michael & Mary Dohme of Greenville, Mark & Dawn Dohme of Greenville and Jeffrey & Tonya Dohme of Greenville; step daughter, Joy Thompson of Troy; grandchildren, Karen & Joel Avore, Cheryl Hollinger, Doug & Kristy Gantt, Brian & Cassie Gantt and Todd & Julie Deeter; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Gene & Janice Oliver of Versailles; and numerous great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Elvin is also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Violet L. (Hendrickson) Hollinger on August 5, 1994 whom he married March 22, 1941; 2nd wife, Virginia M. (Dohme) Hollinger on September 22, 2012; daughter, Gloria Gantt; son-in-law, Billy L. Deeter; and a sister, Goldie Hall.

Elvin was a retired farmer and also formerly worked for Keller Grain & Feed in Horatio. Elvin was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Darke County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:30 to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
