Donald Eugene “Donnie” Moyer

Donald Eugene “Donnie” Moyer, age 75 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:40 P.M. Thursday January 10, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic Cleveland, Ohio.  Donnie was born December 25, 1937 in Richland Township Darke County, Ohio and the son of the late Charles Clyde & Ethel Marie (Sherrick) Moyer.

He was retired from TWA, where he had been employed for 33 years with the grounds crew at the Dayton International Airport.  He was also a veteran serving with the U.S. Marine Corp.

He was an avid fisherman, loved to play cards and hunt mushrooms.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Riegle and Phyllis Shuttleworth and a niece Jill Snyder.

Donnie is survived by his brother and sister in law Roger & Bonita Moyer of Greenville; loving companion of 18 years Gladys Neff of Greenville; nieces and nephews Greg Shuttleworth, Mark Shuttleworth, Jackie Guevara, Anna Marie Riegle, Lonnie Moyer and Kim Fourman; as well as other close family members Beth (Denny) Wells, Dean (Jody) Neff, Kelly Byrum, Mike Wells, Megan Wells, Hope Byrum, Bob, Michelle, Addison, and Abby Miller, and Travis and Tyler Neff; as well as his lifelong best friend Bill Bohler. He will be missed by his dog Katie as well as Kelly’s dogs Lucy and Lola. 

The family would like to thank his special friends Ben DeWeese and Dave Delk for all their help throughout the years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday January 16, 2013 in the First Congregational Christian Church 115 East Fifth Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ted McCurdy and Pastor Joe Soley co-officiating.  Burial with Full Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will be held in the Greenlawn Cemetery Versailles, Ohio.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Wednesday 1/2 hour prior to the services in the church.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the First Congregational Christian Church or the Cancer Association of Darke County.
