Robert "Gene" Yohey
Robert "Gene" Yohey, 79, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, January
19, 2013 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born July 13, 1933 in Darke County, Ohio, son of the late Austin
LeRoy and Bertha (Lyme) Yohey. In addition to his parents he is
preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Ray Yohey, Roy Yohey,
Lucille Kimmel, Janette Cain, Marlene Skinner; and a son-in-law, David
Shiverdecker.
Gene was retired from farming which was his passion, also had worked
at Ansonia Lumber Yard , Ansonia Farm Service. He was a veteran
of the US Army, a member of the Greenville Eagles #2177, Greenville
Legion and VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley (Blackburn) Yohey whom
he married July 4, 1953; children, Larry G, (Connie) Yohey of Rossburg,
Sharon K. (Brent) Siders of Greenville, Connie S. Shiverdecker of
Greenville; grandchildren, Travis Yohey, Jason (Jennifer) Yohey, Shelly
Geyer, Scott Siders, Holli Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Tracy (Steve)
Bailey; great grandchildren, Dominic and Devin Geyer, Julia and Eva
Yohey, Kyla and Gavin Gerace, Joseph Siders, Parker and Kaylyn Bailey;
and a sister, Helen (Melvin) Spencer of Greenville.
Services with full military honors by the Greenville Honor Guard will
be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral
in Greenville with the Pastor Peter Menke officiating. Burial
will follow at a later date Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7
p.m.
