Brook Charles Baker
Brook Charles Baker 34 was born February 28, 1979 in Greenville, Ohio
and went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Surviving a traumatic birth, he was a "miracle baby" from the
beginning. Each day of his 34 years was truly a gift from God.
He loved the Lord, his son and his family with all his heart. He
was a people person who never knew a stranger.
He had previously worked as a dispatcher for Greenville Transit, was a
former manager of Radio Shack, was a member of Ansonia United Methodist
Church and attended EUM Church in Greenville. He journeyed to South
America on mission trips during his teens and later joined Teen Mania
Ministries. He was a commissioned missionary for the United
Methodist Church having served in Dayton, Ohio and Tucson, AZ. For
a short while he served as youth pastor for Family of God Ministries in
Arcanum. In Tucson he led a Sidewalk Sunday School program
bringing Jesus to children in the projects. He was involved in
the Emmaus community and Western Ohio Chrysalis. Serving on many
Chrysalis Teams, he loved sharing his faith with teens and watching God
work in their lives.
Brook is survived by his son, Joshua Charles Baker of Greenville; his
parents, John and Pam Snyder of Ansonia; a brother and sister-in-law,
Ryan and Micheal Baker of Xenia; a much loved niece and nephew, Madison
and Jackson Baker of Xenia; two aunts, Phyllis Barga of Troy, and his
favorite aunt and uncle, Wanda and Richard Burke of
Ansonia. He also left behind his faithful companion, Barklay.
Brook is also survived by his father and step mother, Jeff and Vicky
Baker of Indiana; a brother, Jordan Baker of Indiana: grandparents,
Jack and Mary Baker of Richmond, IN; an, aunt and uncle of Richmond,
IN, Kim and Debbie Baker; and numerous cousins.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at
Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow at
Ansonia Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m.
to 8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be left
for Joshua Charles Baker Scholarship Fund.
