H. Samuel Grabeman
H. Samuel Grabeman, age 76 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:35
A.M. Friday March 22, 2013 in the Rest Haven Nursing Home of Greenville.
Sam was born November 8, 1936 in Dubois County, Indiana and the son of
the late Herbert & Meta (Hoffman) Grabeman.
Sam retired in 1999 from ABF Trucking of Dayton, Ohio. He had
also worked for Carl Subler Trucking and Pohl Trucking, both of
Versailles, Ohio. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army
Military Police Unit. He was also a member of the Kentucky
Colonel.
A member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville, the church
choir and had been a member of a Barber Shop Singing Group. Sam,
with his wife Ruth, had enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states as
well as Hawaii and their trips to Europe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth
E. (Coulson) Grabeman June 22, 2010. They were married November
3, 1957.
Sam is survived by his sons Allan Grabeman of Fishers, Indiana, Daniel
Grabeman of Portsmouth, Ohio; daughters in law Janice Grabeman of
Portsmouth and Kay Grabeman Eltzroth of Frankton, Indiana;
grandchildren Katie Grabeman, Luke Grabeman, Jessica Grabeman and Mary
Grabeman, sister and brother in law Grace & John Parmelee of
Wilmington, Delaware and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday March 26, 2013 in
the St. John Lutheran Church 7814 State Route 121-North Greenville,
Ohio with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. The family will receive
friends on Monday March 25, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Tuesday 1 hour prior
to the services in the church.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the St. John Lutheran Church.
