Donna Kay Wright
Donna Kay Wright, 73, of Greenville passed away March 26, 2013 at her
home in Greenville. She had recently been diagnosed with acute
lymphoblastic leukemia.
She was born March 11, 1940, in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of
Donald Richard and Gwendolyn Irene (Rehmert) Neiswonger. In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Wright;
sister, Rebecca Neiswonger, and brother, James William Neiswonger.
After retirement, Donna was very involved with volunteering
locally. At different times, she volunteered for Friends of the
Library, North School, Woodland Heights, Humane Society, Crime
Stoppers, Hospice, Red Cross, and Darke County Park District. She
received and 2002 VFW Citizen of the Year and 2003 VFW State Volunteer
of the Year award. She helped establish the Darke County Birders
Club, the Darke County Canoe and Kayak Club, and began the Greenville
Creek clean-up
She was involved with many of the St. Paul Lutheran Church committees,
served on church council, and was the first cook for the soup
kitchen. She worked as church secretary for Grace Lutheran
Church. For many years, she helped as a poll worker. Donna
was active with the Republican Party, having served as treasurer of the
Darke County Republican Executive Committee, and served on the Central
Committee. She received the Darke County Party's Republican of the Year
Recognition.
Donna is survived by son, William Norvell of Miami, Florida ;
daughter-in-law and husband, Emiko and David Augsburger of Greenville;
grandchildren, Nicholas Norvell and Ryan Augsburger of
Greenville, two great-grandchildren; and special friend, Steve
Miller. She is also survived by brother, Tom (Cindy)
Neiswonger of McMinnville, Oregon; sisters, Jennifer (Richard) Wagle of
Weatherford, Texas; Mary (Carl) Welsh of Lawton, Oklahoma; Uncle Phil
and Aunt Marjory Rehmert of Greenville; and several cousins, nieces and
nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at St.
Paul Lutheran Church 131 East Fourth Street Greenville with Pastor
Peter Menke officiating. Burial will follow in the old section of
Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday
from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville and
Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the church. The family
requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be left to
St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville and State of the Heart Hospice.
