Bonnie Sue McCoy

Bonnie Sue McCoy, 41, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2013 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.  Bonnie was born in Greenville, Ohio on September 23, 1971 to the late Jack and Joyce A. (Short) McCoy.

Bonnie went to Tri-Village School and got her GED in Dayton. She studied at Southwestern Business College. She had worked at Miller's in Arcanum, Eikenberry's and Chicken Kitchen in Greenville, Coats Eye Wear, Accura Drywall, and Greco's all in Dayton. Bonnie was a member of First Assembly of God in Greenville.

Bonnie loved all of her animals: dogs, cats and a ferret. Some of Bonnie's favorite things to do were camping and reading her Bible. Bonnie loved kids and over the years she had the privilege of caring for many children.

During her lifetime Bonnie struggled with poor choices, but this year marked three years of sobriety.  Since this life accomplishment, she had been able to run AA meetings. Bonnie also became a Christian and read her Bible every day. Her family has been very proud of this accomplishment.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her infant brother, Mike McCoy; grandparents, George and Mabel (Bowers) McCoy and Chalmer and Mary (Stiver) Short.

Bonnie is survived by her fiancé, Dan Dillman of Greenville; a sister, Mary J. McCoy and her fiancé, Dewayne Weyant of Greenville; three nephews, Justin and Jennifer Scantland, Jeff and Sarah Weyant of Greenville, and Jeremy "Butch" Scantland of Greenville; nine great nieces and nephews, Garrett, Gavin, Chase, Jorden, Faith, Quest, Marissa, Keegan and Blake.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church, 7219 St. RT. 118, Greenville with Rev. Dale Boeger officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 3 - 7 PM also at the church. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio. The family requests memorial contributions be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
