William R. “Bill”
Brickler Sr
William R. “Bill” Brickler Sr., age 83, of Gettysburg, Ohio passed away
at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his residence. William was
born May 30, 1930 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Harry E. & Myrtle
E. (Reed) Brickler.
William is survived by his wife, Barbara Colleen (Hubler) Brickler whom
he married July 19, 1952; children, Roxanne B. & Larry Hill of
Cordova, Tennessee, William R. & Velma Brickler Jr. of Gettysburg,
Sherry L. & Donald Mong of East Greenwich, Rhode Island and Johnnie
L. & Carrie Simons of Greenville; grandchildren, Erin N. Telford,
Kye W. Lamn, Derrick J. Mong, Ryan T. Simons, Amber Seibel, Tasha
Seibel and Ashley Seibel; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers &
sister, John & Kathryn Brickler of Greenville, Barbara & Pastor
John Stonerock of Toledo, Donald Brickler of Greenville and Joan Clack
of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, William is also preceded in death by a
brother, Benjamin E. Brickler.
William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired
from Keller Grain & Feed Inc. where he was a truck driver. William
was a member of the New Madison American Legion and Greenville Moose
Lodge. William was a former member of the Coon Hunters Club and the
Ohio Horseman’s Association.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2014
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor John Stonerock
officiating. Burial will follow in Stelvideo Cemetery in Darke County.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at
the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville
Veteran’s Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to State of
