Alice Futrell
Alice Futrell, age 87, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday,
January 20, 2014 at 7:02AM at the Arden Courts of Chagrin Falls,
Ohio. She was born on March 18, 1926 in Lawson, Arkansas, to the
late Samuel N. & Zelma C. (Dillinder) Barnes.
Alice is survived by her son, F. Leslie Futrell (Theresa) of Marietta,
Ohio; daughter, Sally Futrell (Tom) of Newbury, Ohio; grandchildren,
Amy Futrell Manley (Rod), Gabe Futrell (Karyn), Jordan N Futrell,
and Justin D. Futrell; and great grandchildren Garrett Manley, Carolyn
Manley, Reagan K. Futrell, and Logan J. Futrell. Alice is also
survived by sister-in-law Lucy Futrell and brother-in-law &
sister-in-law Glenn & Aleta Futrell and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband,
Rollin L. Futrell and son, Neal B. Futrell and brothers, Irvin Barnes
and Everett Barnes.
Alice retired in 1981 as a teacher from the Greenville City School
District. She was a graduate of Miami University and also
attended Wright State University. Alice was a member of the
Anthony Wayne 169 Board; Natures Trail Club; Treaty City Homemakers
Club; First United Methodist Church, and was an officer in United
Methodist Women.
There will be a service held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM
at Peterson Richardson Funeral Home, 415 School Street, Carlisle, Iowa
with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral
home. Burial will follow in the Palmyra Cemetery in Carlisle,
Iowa. There will be visitation from 5:00 – 6:30 PM with a
memorial service to follow at 6:30 PM on Saturday, January 25th, 2014
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Angela
Meeks officiating.
