Hendrik “Hennie” Johannes van der Walt
Hendrik “Hennie” Johannes van der Walt, age 20 of Greenville, Ohio
passed away at 3:30 A.M. Thursday January 16, 2014 at Children’s
Medical Center Dayton, Ohio. Hennie was born January 21, 1993 in
Pretoria South Africa and the son of Hendrik and Marnelise (Hugo) van
der Walt of Greenville.
He was a 2011 graduate of Greenville Senior High School, a recipient of
services from Wayne Industries and a member of the First Presbyterian
Church.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Hendrik and Maria
van der Walt.
Hennie’s survivors in addition to his parents are his brother Hugo van
der Walt of Greenville; maternal grandparents Johannes and Suzanne Hugo
of South Africa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins all residing in
South Africa; as well as many beloved friends in the Greenville area.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday January 21, 2014 in
the First Presbyterian Church 114 East Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio
with Rev. Dr. John Person officiating. Burial will follow in the
Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday
January 20, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey
Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the
services in the church.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the First Presbyterian Church.
