Delbert Paul Stuart

Delbert Paul Stuart, 96 of Greenville, Ohio entered a great reunion in heaven on July 5, 2014 at the Brethren Retirement Community.  He was born October 18, 1917 in Wells, New York, the son of the late Paul and Georgiana (Clouthier) Stuart. 

He worked for Pass & Seymour, Valor Enterprises as a salesman and Wayne Industries as a substitute supervisor. He was a member of Gideons International and spoke at several churches in the county.  He served in the United States Army during WWII.  He was a member of Trinity Wesleyan church in Greenville for 39 years and served on the board, as the custodian, and head usher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years Marjorie (Posson) Stuart on June 17, 2012, daughter Myrna Jean Stuart, brother Lloyd Stuart, sister Iona (Stuart) Wilson.

He is survived by his daughter: Pat (Steve) Longfellow, Greenville, Ohio. Grandchildren, Jeannie (Aaron) Reid,  New London, Minnesota, Douglas (Kelli) Longfellow Greenville, Ohio : Six great-grandchildren, Gregory Reid, Daniel Reid, Jonathan Reid, Hope Reid, Aleta Longfellow, Valor Longfellow. Two brothers, Elwood Stuart, Greenville, Ohio and Everett Stuart, Wells, New York and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11am at Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1400 East Main Street Greenville, Ohio with Rev Robert Boyd and Rev David Vandenbergh officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Trinity Wesleyan Building Fund in lieu of flowers.  Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville.

The family wishes to express extreme gratitude to the nurses and aides on the 6th floor of the Brethren Retirement Community that took excellent care of Delbert especially Roberta, Kelli and Kim.
