Elson
Lawrence R. “Rafe” Elson, age 77, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be with
the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 9:39 PM at Wayne HealthCare,
Greenville, Ohio. He was born on August 24, 1936 in Greenville,
Ohio, to the late Thomas & Mina (Cool) Elson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Lois (Hofacker) Elson of
Greenville, Ohio; daughters and son in law, Angela & Paul Kemme of
West Chester, Ohio, and Cindy Elson of London, Ohio; grandchildren,
Meredith Supe, Aaron Kemme, Olivia Kemme, Catherine Kemme and Caroline
Kemme Baker; brothers, Erie Elson of Ft. Recovery, Ohio, and Russell
Elson of Greenville; sister, Betty Hittle of Celina, Ohio; as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter,
Sheryl Ann Elson; son in law, Terry Supe; brothers, John, Perry and
Marion Elson; and sister Esther Elson.
Lawrence retired from Dayton Power and Light Company.
There will be a service held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 2:30 PM at
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Arnold Wynn
officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery,
Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday one
hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
