Charles W. ‘Chuck” Swank, 71 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday
June 3, 2014 at 6:57 AM at his residence. He was born August 31,
1942 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Charles F. & Viola
C. (Beyke) Swank. He served in the United States Air Force.
He retired from Corning Glass where he worked in the maintenance
department. He was a member of the American Legion Post #140 and
Greenville Moose Lodge #329.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Edward D.
Whitesell; sister: Clara A. Edwards.
He is survived by his wife: Cynthia J. (Bartels) Swank of
Greenville whom he married September 23, 1967; sons: Lawrence A.
Swank of Greenville, Charles F. Swank of Greenville;
grandchildren: Michael A. Swank, Natasha J. Swank, Austin T.
Swank, Branden T. Swank & Ethan C. Crist all of Greenville; sisters
& brothers in law: Margaret A. Floyd of Ansonia, Mary L.
& Steve Armstrong of Greenville, Norma J. & Jim Brandenburg of
Arkansas, Nellie V. & Jeff Smith of Greenville; and numerous nieces
& nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday June 9, 2014 from 5:00 PM
to 7:00 PM at the American Legion Post #140 325 North Ohio Street,
Greenville, Ohio. Veteran’s services will be conducted by the
Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are being handled
by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. In lieu of
flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association.
