Betty Ruth (Brandt)
Althoff
Dear friends and family,
Today mother finished her journey from life here to heaven with God.
For the last 7 days, she has been slowly and peacefully resting as we
waited for her to finally make it "home." She had often asked me
why she couldn't die and my answer was always the same--"it's not your
turn." Last night, in the dark hours of early morning, she tried
to make it "home" but her place wasn't ready.
Today, however, she made it where she had wanted to be for such a long
time. I will miss her so as she taught me even more lessons these
past 3 years at our daily breakfast. However sad I am at losing
her, I am more grateful that she is off to a better place where her
mind and body will be healed. She can now be part of a glorious chorus
praising God in the highest all the time. Plus she will get to
see my father which just makes me smile!
Below is the obituary that she wrote 10 or 12 years ago, if you would
like to read it.
Any and all prayers would be appreciated. Friend, Cathy
