Garrison
Norma Jean (Kennon) Garrison, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at
1:30 P.M. Thursday October 16, 2014 at State of the Heart Hospice Care
Center Greenville, Ohio. Norma was born January 18, 1923 in
Jackson Township Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Elwood
and Artie (James) Kennon.
She retired in 1986 as an executive secretary at the former Cadillac
Gage Company of Greenville, where she had been employed for 27 years.
Norma was a 1941 graduate of Union City, Indiana High School, a member
of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville where she had served as
a Deacon of the Church, a former member of the Criterion Literary Club,
Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Lady Bug Garden Club, Greenville Elk’s Lodge
and the former Greenville Country Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband
Max Garrison in 1988; Sister Marcelle Penrod and Brother James Kennon.
Norma is survived by her son Kristopher Kim Garrison of Greenville;
Sister Patsy Gordon of Fairborn; brother in law David Penrod of
Beavercreek and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday October 21, 2014 in
the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. John
Person officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from
6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County.
