Ruth E. (Jarrett) Osborne, 88 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Sunday,
October12, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana,
She was born October 12, 1926 in North Belle Vernon, PA, daughter of
the late Orlan D. and Helen (Baird) Jarrett. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest
C. "Ozzie" Osborne, whom she married on July 13, 1946; daughters,
Karen L. and Jennifer A. Osborne; sisters, Hazel Cantarell and Eleanor
Hughes; brother, Robert Jarrett
Ruth had been employed in the past at Jamesway and Harts department
stores, as a merchandiser for American Greetings, and a co-owner of The
Flatlands General Stores in Rossburg, Ohio. She was currently
employed at Wayne Health Care where she has been active for many years
in the Wayne Hospital Auxiliary as the Reception Desk Coordinator.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Michael
Bowman of Rossburg; son, Richard Osborne of Los Angeles, CA;
granddaughter and husband, Sadie Bowman and Joe Bourgingon of Portland,
OR; grandsons, Zane Bowman of Flagler Beach, FL and Wyatt Bowman of
Portland, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, October 16, 2014 at
the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow
in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 PM till the
time of services. The family request the memorial contributions
be given to Wayne Hospital Auxiliary 835 Sweitzer Street Greenville, OH
45331 or American Diabetes Association.
