Ron E. Van Vickle
Ron
E. Van Vickle, age 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday,
October 20, 2014 at 10:14 PM at his residence. He was born on
October 16, 1933 in Union City, Indiana, to the late Joseph &
Martha (Wasson) Van Vickle.
Ron is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Edger) Van Vickle of
Greenville, whom he married on October 15, 1955; sons and daughters in
law, Joe & Cheryl Van Vickle of Greenville and Jim &
Jennifer Van Vickle of Waukesha, WI; daughter and son in law,
LeAnn & Steve Schlamb of Monroe, OH; grandsons, Zachary and Jessica
Van Vickle of Greenville, Patrick Schlamb of Monroe, OH, Nicholas
Schlamb of Monroe, OH, and Connor Van Vickle of Waukesha, WI; sister,
Susan Weisenbarger of Arcanum; best friend, Sudz; first
cousins, Richard Wasson Union City, IN and William Wasson of OH; as
well as extended family and numerous friends.
He was a member of the United States Navy being honorably discharged as
an E-3 Corpsman in 1957. He worked at the former Westinghouse,
Union City, IN; Retired from a career as a Darke County Law Enforcement
Officer. He was a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143;
Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Greenville Chapter
#177 Royal Arch Masons of Ohio; Darke County York Rite Council;
Matchett Council #91 Royal & Select Masons of Ohio and Sidney
Commandery #46. He was a past member of the Blue Knights of
Dayton and SOFA. He loved camping and music.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4-8 PM at
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with the Greenville Masonic
Lodge conducting a Masonic Memorial Service followed by a Scottish Rite
Ring Service at 7:45 PM at the funeral home. There will a private
graveside service held at the convenience of the family with Pastor
Gary Cloyd officiating as well as the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard
conducting a graveside military service.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions are given to
the Knights Templar Eye Foundation Inc., 1033 Long Prairie Rd., Suite
5, Flower Mound, TX 75022 or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
