Alberta
Jane (Strickland) Mote, 60, of Union City, Indiana passed away on
August 4, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Alberta was born December 13,1954 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to
the late Alton Strickland and Jane (Floyd) Dispennette.
Alberta worked as an RN at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville during her
life. She was great at cake decorating, loved crocheting, and
cooking. She was a member of Lighthouse Christian Center in
Greenville.
Alberta is survived by her husband, Mike Mote of Union City; daughters
and sons-in-law, Melissa and Mark Young of Sidney, Shauna and Dustin
York of Union City, Indiana, Constance and Brian Hill of Union City,
Indiana, Cassandra and Dan Elifritz of Union City, Indiana, and
Clarissa and Aaron Lairson of Portland, Indiana; grandchildren,
Stephanie and Dustin Opsomer; Ashley and Joshua Miller; Lyndsie, Kayla,
Madisyn, and Brycen Hill; Owen, Parker, Quintin Elifritz; Jaylee,
Kendrick, Nick, Hunter and Dakota Lairson; and Cora and Eli Mote and
Gunnar Young; great grandchildren, Jacob and Carson Opsomer and
Bentley; brothers, Alton Strickland, Jr. of Union City, Ohio and James
Strickland of Greenville; a sister, Gennette and Charles Grider of
Greenville.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at
10:00 AM at Lighthouse Christian Center in Greenville with Rev. Hershel
Fee officiating. Friends and family may visit from 5 - 7 PM
onFriday, August 7, 2015 also at the church. Burial will follow in
Union City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family request memorial
contributions be given to Braund Pope Funeral Home.
