Bulcher
Francis E. “Frank” Bulcher, age 97, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at
3:22 P.M. on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Versailles Health Care
Center. Francis was born February 27, 1918 in Darke County, Ohio to the
late Peter & Stella (Goubeaux) Bulcher.
Francis is survived by his children, John Bulcher of Greenville, Joan
& Larry Roll of Versailles, Carol & Marc Motter of Birmingham,
Alabama, Rebecca & Peter Nasseri of Clearwater, Florida, David
& Sandy Bulcher of Powell and Margaret Rhoades of Greenville; 13
grandchildren and 1 step grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 step
great-grandchild; brother, Willard Bulcher of Versailles; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Francis was also preceded in death by his
wife, Esther C. (Wimmers) Bulcher on July 4, 2013 whom he married June
20, 1946; brothers, Clarence, Orville, Rhomane and Robert Bulcher; and
sisters, Thelma Bulcher, Florence Barga, Pauline Gigandet, Fredona
Rethman, Lucille Danzig and Margaret Bulcher in infancy.
Francis was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a
self-employed mason and plasterer for over 30 years. He was a member of
St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles; Greenville Disabled American
Veteran’s Chapter 57; and a Charter member of the Fraternal Order of
Eagles Aerie #2347 in Versailles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday,
December 30, 2015 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev.
Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery
in Versailles with Military Honors conducted by the Versailles
Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from
5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at
Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Versailles Area Historical Society (Museum) or MSUD Family
Support Group 9517 Big Bear Avenue Powell, Ohio 43065.
