James Edward Petty Sr.
James Edward Petty Sr., 78 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Thursday
February 5, 2015 at 12:38 PM at his residence. He was born March
4, 1936 in Cookeville, Tennessee the son of the late James “Jim” &
Lola (Sweargin) Petty. He was retired from Airstream and was an
apprentice Auctioneer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son: Gary Petty;
brother: Kenny Petty; sisters: Imojean Smith, Juanita Long
,& Linda.
He is survived by his wife: Donna (Burnside) Petty of Versailles
whom he married March 11, 1961 his children & spouses: Pam
& Kent Beisner of Greenville, Ed & Angie Petty of Russia, Patty
& Chris Jenkinson of Versailles, Richard & Sheryl Petty of
Piqua, & Connie & Cindy of Florida; 21 grandchildren; 13 great
grandchildren; brothers & sisters in law: Mitch & Janice
Petty, Ron & Sue Petty, Charles & Linda Petty, & Steven
Petty; sisters & brothers in law: Lois & Richard
Hardesty, Lib Wright, & Donna & Dan Mayo; brother in law:
Garnard Smith.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at
Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio with Pastor Dennis Wheeler
officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to Osgood Rescue.
