Nestor
William A. “Bill” Nestor, age 85, of Englewood, Ohio, and formerly of
Darke County, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 9:38
AM at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on April
9, 1929 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Burt & Opal (Harter)
Nestor.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Christy & Mike
Sommers of Englewood, Ohio; grandchildren, Julia (Aaron) Motley and
Andy (Lindzee) Sommers; great granddaughter, Gwen Sommers; as well as
numerous nieces, nephews and in laws.
Bill was a tool and die maker at Armco Steel in Piqua, Ohio, before
working in sales and management at Lake Center Industries for 12 years
and Phillips Industries for 12 years.
He was a member of the United States Marine Corp serving during the
Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion in
Greenville. He loved sports, bowling and was an avid baseball
fan. After retirement Bill owned and operated Andrew & Co. in
Arcanum which was a baseball card and hobby shop.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris
Nestor whom he married on March 26, 1949 and brother, Robert Nestor.
There will be a service held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow
in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive
friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A
graveside military service will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans
Honor Guard.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to
the donor’s choice.
