Paul A. Krager
Paul A. Krager, age 97, of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Rochester,
Michigan passed away at 4:30 P.M. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Oakley
Place in Greenville. Paul was born November 18, 1917 in Bay City,
Michigan to the late Albert & Margaret (Riley) Krager.
Paul is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Lynn & Jerry
Starks of Greenville; grandson, Daniel & Tibby Starks of Orlando,
Florida; sister, Dorothy Sadlak of Bay City, Michigan; and numerous
nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his 1st
wife, Madeline Louise (Hierlihy) Krager (1940-1976); 2nd wife, Edith
Joan (Sanford) Krager (1977-2008); brothers, Carl, James, Earl, Norman
and Roy Krager; and sisters, Margaret Portte and Freda Patrick.
Paul served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force during WWII
in the 52nd Fighter Group-5th Fighter Squadron. Paul retired from the
U.S. Air Force as a Sr. Master Sgt. with 22 years of service at Chanute
Air Base in Rantoul, Illinois in 1962 where he was a recruiter and
photographer. He also retired from Rochester High School in Rochester,
Michigan in 1978 where he taught electronics. Paul was a member of the
Greenville American Legion Post # 7262 and Greenville Moose. Paul
enjoyed photography, traveling and spending time with family and
friends.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the
Oakley Place in Greenville with Chaplain Candy Null officiating. Burial
will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire, Michigan at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in
Greenville, Ohio.
