George W. Hathaway
George W. Hathaway, age 91 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away at 1:45 A.M.
Monday June 22, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital Dayton, Ohio.
He was born July 15, 1923 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Alonzo and
Pearl (Tucker) Hathaway.
George had worked at Gower’s Plumbing and Heating and as a Maintenance
Supervisor for the Arcanum Public School System. He was a Veteran
of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army with the 3805th Quartermaster Truck
Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first
wife Beulah (Brandon) Hathaway; second wife Marjorie (Hart) Hathaway;
sisters Dorothy Schumeth, Clara Ellen Liette, Georganna Good, Marjorie
Ratliff and brother Alonzo (Hap) Hathaway.
He is survived by his children Sherry Hathaway and fiancé Richard Ryan
of New Madison, Gail (Clark) Dynes of Greenville, Roberta (Michael)
Salyer of Yorktown, VA., and Sandra (Richard) Robinson of Covington,
Ohio; grandchildren Shawn Armstrong, Rhonda Rexrode, Emily Burk, Chad
Salyer, Bethany Cotter, Scott Robinson and Stephanie Robinson; 14 great
grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren as well as numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday June 25,,
2015 in the Chapel of the Brethren Retirement Community 750 Chestnut
Street Greenville, Ohio with Chaplain Todd Reish officiating.
Full Military Graveside Services by the the Greenville Veterans Honor
Guard will immediately follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The
family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until time
of services in the chapel.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the Brethren Retirement Community Resident’s Aid Fund.
