Madonna L. King
Madonna L. King, age 85 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:08 A.M.
Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the residence of her son Jeff. She was
born October 2, 1929 in Kokomo, Indiana and the daughter of the late
Floyd H. and Helen (Priesthoff) Gerhart.
Madonna was a homemaker, a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
the Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies
Auxiliary all of Greenville. She also had enjoyed playing bridge
and participating in bowling leagues.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first
husband John C. “Jack” Smith and her second husband Gilbert E. King.
Madonna is survived by her children Jennifer A. Bertram of Greenville,
Jeffrey V. (Nellie) Smith of Greenville and Teresa “Kim” (Ron) Halley
of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Stephanie (Rod) Mikesell, Roman (Tina)
Smith and Derek (Amy) Smith; great grandchildren Ashley Mikesell, Jacob
Mikesell, Peyton Smith, Caiden Smith and Kena Smith; brother Floyd H.
(Berdean) Gerhart of Kokomo, Indiana as well as numerous nieces and
nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday May 15, 2015 at the
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Father John R.
White officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Church
Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 Noon
until time of the services in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County or St. Mary’s Catholic
Church of Greenville.
