Saintignon
Duane Edward Saintignon, 73, of Union City, OH, passed away Friday,
October 30, 2015 at his residence.
He was born August 3, 1942, in Greenville, OH, a son of the late
Bernard Saintignon and Naomi (Thompson) Reed. In addition to his
parents, Duane was preceded in death by his grandson, Cole Saintignon;
and two brothers, Melvin and Marion Saintignon.
Duane started his long career as a farmer. He was a prolific
entrepreneur owning multiple business. He was an electrician by trade
owning Shockney’s and Duane’s Electric. He owned the Whistle Stop in
Ansonia, Cole’s Front Street Inn in Greenville, Bartonia Restaurant in
Bartonia, IN, and D’s Restaurant in Union City, IN. Duane was a member
of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Union City, IN and a member of the
Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda Saintignon of Union City, IN,
Rodney (Danita) Saintignon of Union City, OH, Todd Saintignon of
Florence, KY and Derrick Saintignon of Union City, OH; Siblings,
Bernard (Rose) Saintignon of Versailles, OH, Donnie (Betty) Saintignon
of Greenville, OH, Danny (Mary) Saintignon of Dawn, OH, Kathy Werner of
Greenville and Barbara (Larry) Hiatt of Greenville; 9 grandchildren; 6
great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, November 5,
2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Union City, IN with Fr.
Christopher Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s
Church Cemetery in Union City, IN.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7PM, Wednesday, at the
Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, OH.
