Paul E. Weiss
Paul E. Weiss, age 87 of Union City, Ohio passed away at 1:30 PM
Thursday April 28, 2016 at Brookdale of Greenville, Ohio.
Paul was born July 23, 1928 in Darke County Ohio and the son of the
late Carl R. and Iva (Smith) Weiss.
He retired in 2010 from Timmons Water Systems of Union City following
22 years of employment. Prior to that he had worked 35 years at
Westinghouse as well as 35 years of farming.
Paul was a Veteran serving in the US Army, a member of the St. John
Lutheran Church of Greenville and a former participant of the Church
Dartball and Softball leagues. He also loved to camp and travel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Janice
Fourman and brothers Robert and Richard Weiss.
Paul is survived by his wife Kay M. (Cook) Weiss of Union City,
Ohio. They were married September 24, 1965. Also children
Kim (Jay) Blackford of Greenville, Lori Trittschuh of Union City,
Ohio, Jodi (James) Vlasak of San Antonio, Texas, Brian (Pam) Weiss of
Orient, Ohio, Michael (Toni) Weiss of Middletown; step children Deb
(John) Schrader of Rossburg, Karen (Stan) Jago of Albany, Ohio and Jon
Gray of Littlerock, Arkansas; grandchildren Jason (Alyssa) Schrader,
Heath Jago, Amy Jago, Lucy (Justin) Cross, Jeremiah (Courtney)
Blackford, Jamie (Mark) Henry, Claire Weiss, Jessica (Brooks)
Fiesinger, Joshua Vlasak, Johanna Vlasak, Peyton Weiss and Paige Weiss;
15 great grandchildren; sisters Mary Lou (Clarence) Frazier of Union
City, Indiana and Carol (Don) Rank of Greenville; brother James
(Esther) Weiss of Arcanum as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 3, 2016 in the
St. John Lutheran Church 7814 St. Rt. 121-North Greenville, Ohio with
Pastor Patti Morlock officiating. Burial will Military Honors
conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held in the
St. John Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on
Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home
Greenville, Ohio and on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the services in the
church.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the Brookdale Hospice or the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville.
