Charles J. Colvin
Charles J. Colvin, "Charlie the mailman," age 70, of Greenville, passed
away, Monday, April 11, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio a son of the late George and Eloise
(Schofield) Colvin.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son,
Christopher Colvin.
Charlie was a member of the First Assembly of God since 1976. He was on
the praise and worship team and worked in the sound room. He also loved
spending time fishing and boating at Lake Erie. Charlie had a deep love
for farming, and wished he had been able to do more. He loved spending
time with his family and especially his great grandchildren. Charlie
was a poor loser when it came to playing cards.
Even though Charlie was a bilateral amputee, he strived to live life to
the fullest. He made quite an influence to his family, friends, and
community.
Charlie is survived by his Wife of 39 years, Shirley
M.(Broughman)Colvin whom he married November 27,1976; a son and
daughter-in-law, David and Mary Colvin of Seabec, Washington; three
daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and David Welby of Ft. Worth,
Texas, Debbie(Marker) and David Anderson of Greenville, OH and
Sharon(Marker) and Michael Cooper of Columbus, OH; ten grandchildren,
Emily Colvin, Ashley Colvin, April Vansel, Nicole Burgess, Stephanie
Wallace, Michael Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Myia Williams Miller,
Leighann Williams Gigliotti, and Robbie Williams; 14 great
grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother and sister in law,
Patrick and Patricia Colvin of Miamisburg, OH; several other extended
family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at
11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God, 7219 St. Rt. 118 N. in
Greenville with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will
follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson, OH. Family and Friends
may visit on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the
Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God building
fund.
