Athleen K Buhrman
Athleen K Buhrman, age 79, of New Madison, OH, passed away, Sunday,
August 28, 2016 at Brookhaven Retirement Community in Brookville, Ohio.
She was born Friday, February 19, 1937 in Coletown, OH, a daughter of
the late Jack and Audrey (Marrick) Peters.
In addition to her parents, Athleen was preceded in death by her
husband Robert E. Buhrman in 2015; her brother, John Peters, and two
sisters, Phyllis Overholser and Zona Bashore.
After raising four boys, Athleen returned to nursing school and became
an LPN and retired from the Brethren's Retirement Community after 20
years of service. She loved to crochet and provided numerous afghans to
her family. She and Robert enjoyed traveling after they retired. She
was a devoted wife and loving mother.
Athleen is survived by her four sons, Rob (Tammy) Buhrman of Milton,
FL, Randy (Annette) Buhrman of Englewood, OH, Ron (Mindy) Buhrman of
Arcanum, OH, and Rod (Stephanie) Buhrman, Port Orchard, WA; 12
grandchildren, Jessica Buhrman of Dayton, OH, Amanda Buhrman of Union,
OH, Dustin Buhrman of Denver, CO, Kayla Taylor of Franklin, OH, Nic
Buhrman of Beavercreek, OH, Parker Buhrman of Arcanum, OH, Josh Buhrman
of Tampa, FL, Amber Elliott of Tampa, FL, Curtis Buhrman, Jacob
Buhrman, Ben Buhrman, and Abby Buhrman all of Port Orchard, WA; and 8
great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday,
September 3, 2016 at Castine Church of the Brethren in Arcanum with
Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery
in New Madison.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the
church.
