Mary L. Hittle
Mary L. Hittle, age 86 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:41 A.M.
Wednesday January 20, 2016 at the Brethren Retirement Community of
Greenville. She was born November 9, 1929 in Piqua, Ohio and the
daughter of the late Robert H. and Mary Esther (Peters) Penrod.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church
of Greenville. She very much enjoyed spending the summer months with
her late husband Donald and their family at Sugar Island.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband
Donald E Hittle January 19, 2007. They were married December 30,
1950. Also by a grandson Stephen Hittle; brother and sister in
law Chuck and Doris Penrod and sister and brother in law Eileen and
Herman Blakley.
Mary is survived by her children Jeff and Deb Hittle and Christa and
Stephen Gruber all of Greenville; grandchildren Erin and Tracy Fout,
Sara and Jon Waldo, Scott and Andrea Gruber, Donald E. Hittle and Katie
and Travis Swank; great grandchildren Ellie, Emilie and Elexie Fout,
Sadie and Andrew Waldo, Wesley and Jacob Gruber and Samie Swank as well
as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday January 25, 2016 in
the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Dr. Fred
Bernhard and Pastor Scott Gruber co- officiating. Burial will follow in
the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on
Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and on Monday 1 hour prior to the
services in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County or the First United
Methodist Church of Greenville.
