Wonder
Rev. Everett Ted Wonder, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on
Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:15 PM at the Brethren Retirement
Community, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on November 7, 1924 in
Carey, Ohio, to the late Irvin & Bertha (Stahl) Wonder.
He is survived by his foster children, Gary Burgard of Columbus, Ohio,
Anika Juras of Hood River, Oregon, Susie Mouyos of Ramona, California,
Linda Clark of Greenville, Ohio, Diana Blythe of Buxton, Oregon, Tracey
Herrera of Lusby, Maryland, and Donna Busic of Dayton, Ohio; brother
and sister in law, Lynn & Ruth Wonder of Lebanon, Ohio; sister in
law, Jean Wonder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty
Jean (Maser) Wonder; brothers, Robert and Morris Wonder; sisters, Alice
Davie and Patricia Wonder.
Rev. Wonder was an ordained Elder in The United Methodist Church, with
over 40 years of ministry serving churches around the West Ohio
Conference. Most recently, he attended First United Methodist Church in
Greenville, where he was formerly a director of children’s
ministry. He also enjoyed 26 years of performance as a Christian
Clown. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Greenville, and Blue
Lodge Mason of Toledo, Ohio. Rev. Wonder has been very active in
the Boy Scouts of America since 1958. He was a graduate of North
Central College of Arts with a Bachelor’s of Arts in 1948, then he
continued his education at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1951
with a Bachelor’s of Divinity.
There will be a service held on Friday, January 8th at 11:00 a.m. at
the 1st United Methodist Church, 202 West 4th Street, Greenville, Ohio,
with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the
Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive
friends 2 hours prior to the service at church. Arrangements are
under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
