Clarence Herman Wirrig
Clarence Herman Wirrig, age 83 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:49
PM Monday June 13, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital Dayton, Ohio.
Herman was born October 10, 1932 in Piqua, Ohio and the son of the late
Leon and Bertha (Slade) Wirrig.
Herman was retired as the owner and operator of the Antique Dining Room
of Arcanum, Fairlawn Steak House of Greenville and lastly from the
Darke County Sheriff Department.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy Sea Bees and
was a member of the Greenville American Legion and a Life Member of the
Greenville Elks Lodge. Herman was an avid NASCAR Racing fan and
back in the mid to late 50’s raced motorcycles.
Herman is survived by his wife Sandra Sue (Hart) Wirrig of
Greenville. They were married February 19, 1990. Also
son Tony (Mary Irene) Wirrig of Greenville; step children Alyssa Blinn
of Greenville, John Baltes of Troy and Angela Hall of Kettering;
grandchildren Amie (John) Jackson, Elisabeth (Grant) Spitler, Scott
Wirrig and Jeff Wirrig; step grandchildren Jerry Blinn, Natalie Blinn,
Cullen Blinn and Garrett Hall; great grandchild Leah
Jackson; sister Connie “Toots” (Gary) Myers of Phoenix, AZ.;
brothers Chester (Sharon) Wirrig of Arcanum and Charles “ Chuck”
(Kathy) Wirrig of Englewood as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family
in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd
Reish officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville
Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the Darke County Sheriff Department.
