Clarabel Rife
Clarabel Rife, 95, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away March 11, 2016 at
the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
Clarabel was born December 17, 1920 in Darke County, Ohio, a daughter
of the late Russel and Stella (Rhodes) Alspaugh. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Rife; her
sister, Berniece Reck; and her brother, Berlyn Alspaugh.
Clarabel lived her faith. She was a member of the Oakland Church of the
Brethren and was very active in her church life. She was an avid
traveler, loved animals and all things related to nature. She was known
as a giver and friend to anyone she met.
Clarabel is survived by her children, Doug (Kyle) Rife of Cincinnati,
Ohio and Sharon (Ted) Shapiro of St. Clements, Ontario; five
grandchildren, Rachel (Jeff) Hudson, Ryan (Hailey Walsh) Shapiro, Katie
(Nick Moore) Rife, Abby Rife and Kimberly Rife. Clarabel was very
active at the BRC and will be missed by all her friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the
BRC Chapel with Rev. Todd Reish officiating.
The family will be receiving guests on Saturday, from 1PM until the
time of service at 2PM.
Burial will take place at the Gettysburg Cemetery at the convenience of
the family.
The family requests memorial contributions be given to either the
Heifer Project atwww.heifer.com or the Resident Aid Fund at the BRC.
Arrangements are entrusted to Oliver Floyd Funeral Home.
