James R. “Jim” Mullins

James R. “Jim” Mullins, age 87, of Gettysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 4:49 PM at the Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio.  He was born on October 30, 1928 in Pine Hill, Kentucky, to the late Randolph Mullins & Mary E. (Jones) Chitwood.

James is survived by his children, Mary Lynn of Greenville, Diane Shaneyfelt of Greenville, Sandra & Gregg McClellan of Eaton, Ohio, and Randy Mullins of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Kirby Bradley, Jeff Bradley, Steven (Tecy) Kramer, Melissa (Bill) Lovette, Tim (Diane) Kramer, Jimmy (Kathy) Mullins, Leroy Mullins and Amy Mullins; great grandchildren, Austin Bradley, Tyler Bradley, Branden Bradley, Scott Andrew Kramer, Britney Nichole Lovette, Destiny Lovette, Howard and Isiah; sister Edna Sanders; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. (Hartman) Mullins whom he married on August 25, 1951; siblings, Vern Mullins, Hazel Nill and Roberta Fair.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville, Ohio.  He retired in 1991 from Beatrice Foods in Greenville after 29 ½ years of service.  He also worked at Netzels in Greenville for 16 years and was a farmer all his life.

There will be a service held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. 

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the State of the Heart Care.
