Rick Jones
Rick Jones, age 69, of Ansonia, OH, passed away, Friday, May 27, 2016
at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville, Ohio.
He was born Monday, March 3, 1947 in Darke County, Ohio, a son of
Paul and Betty (Pence) Jones of Versailles, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Jones, father and
mother-in-law, Don and Evaline Myers, brother-in-laws, Gene and Jack
Myers, Marcus Payne and Bruce Ritz, sister-in-law, Tina Myers, niece,
Lori Williams and nephews, Joe Mills, Scott Myers, and Michael Brooks.
Rick was a 1965 graduate of Ansonia High School. After graduation, he
worked for New Idea in Coldwater for three years. He also worked at the
Royal Crest Dairy and then worked for 30 years at Le Roi Dresser
in Sidney. In 2003, he opened Jones Driving School in Greenville,
which was he proudest venture. He started with only two cars and
himself and grew a successful business. The Jones Driving School now
has six cars and several employees.
Through his life, Rick was involved in the Ansonia Jaycee's, Darke
County Sherriff Patrol, Ansonia Swinging 8's, Darke County Muzzle
Loaders, Annie Oakley Wings, Rose City Ventures, and the Ansonia
Athletic Boosters.
Rick is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Donna Kay (Myers) Jones,
whom he married July 2, 1967; son and daughter-law, Darrell
(Erin) Jones, Ansonia, OH; grandchildren, Amanda Jones and Megan Jones;
Deanna's boyfriend, Steve Hetzler of Piqua; sister, Kathy (Bruce)
Brooks of Greenville, Ohio; sister-in-laws, Rita Myers of Arcanum, Sue
Mills, Joan Ritz, Janet(Doug)Clemens, Mary(Bruce)Williams all of
Greenville, Linda(Tom)Boyer of Versailles, Lisa(Kenny Rawlins)Payne of
Grove City; brother-in-laws, Ron "Mose"(Willy Bruckner)Myers of
Arcanum, John(Judy)Myers of Piqua, Roger(Beth Weaver)Myers of
Greenville, Richard(Peggy)Myers of Illinois and numerous nieces and
nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June
3, 2016 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Simmons
officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4:00 PM to
7:00 PM at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, OH and also 1 hour
prior to services on Friday.
