Deloris Violet Hyer
Deloris Violet Hyer, age 93, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on
Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 8:20 AM at Brookdale Nursing Home,
Greenville, Ohio. She was born on May 5, 1923 in Randolph County,
Indiana, to the late Walter and Velma (Flory) Smith.
Deloris is survived by her son and daughter in law, Steven & Maria
Hyer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; granddaughter, Stephanie Hyer;
brother, Doyle L. Smith of Union City, Ohio; nieces, Brenda Criss and
Lynn Smith; and nephews, Craig, Carey, Daren and Devin Smith.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband,
Carrol “Bud” Hyer whom she married on April 2, 1949; grandson, Nicholas
Hyer; sisters, Fern Banker and Charlotte Criss; and brothers, Paul
Smith and G.L. Smith.
Deloris worked at Second National Bank for 13 years and was a member of
the Eagles Auxiliary, Moose and Elks Lodge.
There will be a service held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Randy
Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery,
Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to
the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to
the Donor’s Choice.
