Jack S. Seiler
Jack S. Seiler, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:34 PM
Sunday February 5, 2017 at the Miami Valley Hospital Dayton,
Ohio. Jack was born November 9, 1929 in Greenville, Ohio and the
son of the late E.J. and Carrye (Spahr) Seiler.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
His military commitment earned him a seat on the Honor’s Flight to
Washington DC.
In Jack’s early years he was actively involved in many of his father’s
business ventures including starting the White Springs Golf Course,
working at Seiler’s Sport Shop in downtown Greenville and working in
the tree nursery on the family farm.
Jack was retired from BASF and enjoyed spending his free time playing
golf, gardening, taking trips and visiting with old friends. One
of his routines in more recent years was joining friends for breakfast
at McDonalds on Tuesday mornings. Being raised on a golf course,
Jack was a natural on the links and accomplished two hole-in-ones and
several club championships in his time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jim
Seiler.
Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay (Birt) Seiler of
Greenville. They were married March 23, 1959. Also children
Jenny (Jack) Clark of Arcanum, Mark (Erin) Seiler of Springfield, Ohio
and Michael (Cyndi) Seiler of Key West, Florida; grandchildren Katie
(Tom) Gabbard, Daniel Clark, Molly Clark, Adam Seiler, Andrew Seiler
and Aubree Smith; brother Dick (Phyllis) Seiler of Greenville, Jack’s
favorite dog “Dixie” as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday February 10, 2017 in
the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Don Myers
officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the
Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the
Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday
February 10, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until time of the services in the
funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
the Donor’s Choice.
