Thelma M. (Schrader) Schultz, age 89, of Versailles, Ohio passed away
at 4:30 PM on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Village Green Healthcare
Center in Greenville. Thelma was born December 30, 1927, in Darke
County to the late Ray W. & Grace (Dickey) Schrader.
Thelma is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harold Schultz whom she
married October 23, 1948; sons & daughters-in-law, Eldon &
Karen Schultz of Versailles, Ohio and Marvin & Elaine Schultz of
Fishers, Indiana; daughter & son-in-law, Bonnie & Danny Kinser
of Wellington, Ohio; grandchildren, Eric & Beth Schultz, Heidi
& Gene Conley, Angie & Kevin Lyme, Rebecca & Kevin Needham,
Robin & Brian Gierse and Brian & Tisha Schultz;
great-grandchildren, Logan , Lindsay & Levi Schultz, Tammicka
Crome, Tieara Gant, Jessica Lyme, Hunter & Austin Needham, Caleb
& Ethan Gierse and Mara Schultz; sister-in-law, Diane Schrader of
Versailles, Ohio; brother-in-law, Hubert Fellers of Greenville, Ohio;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was also preceded in death by a son,
David Schultz; brothers, Robert & Carl “Hoppy” Schrader; and a
sister, Lucille Fellers.
Thelma was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She formerly worked
at the Egg Auction and Wirrig Appliances in Versailles. Thelma was a
very active and lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in
Versailles. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and Treasurer of
the Versailles Band Boosters for 5 years.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 21,
2017, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Robert
Akins and Rev. Bonnie Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in
Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on
Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM
at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity
Lutheran Church in Versailles or the donor’s choice.
