Marilyn O. Sipple
Marilyn O. Sipple, age 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday,
January 17, 2017 at 7:40 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community,
Greenville, Ohio. She was born on May 10, 1935 in Darke County,
Ohio, to the late Paul & Reva (Anthony) Zimmers.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Terry Sipple of Greenville, Ohio,
whom she married on September 26, 1959; son, Kent (Phyllis Shafer)
Sipple of Greenville; daughter and son in law, Cindy & Tom Scott of
Greenville; grandchildren, Amie (Scott) James, Cara (Christian)
Lobenstein and Erin Scott; great grandchildren, Emma, Calvin and Cain
James; brother and sister in law, Gene & Mary Zimmers of Union
City, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her infant
daughter, Michele Sipple and brother, Charles Zimmers.
Marilyn was very active at the United Methodist Church in New Madison,
Ohio, where she was the Secretary for many years and taught Sunday
School and was also active in the Ohio Gourd Society. She was a
homemaker and along with her husband they showed fruits and vegetables
at the Darke County and Ohio State fairs for many years as well as
being a 4-H advisor.
There will be a service held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Carol
Duffield officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove
Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends one
hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to
the United Methodist Church in New Madison, Ohio.
