Harold William “Bill”
Worthen
Harold William “Bill” Worthen, age 66 of Algonac, Michigan and formerly
of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:10 AM Sunday July 30, 2017 in
Davison, MI. Bill was born October 4, 1950 in Greenville, Ohio
and the son of the late William and Dorothy (Newbauer) Worthen.
He was an Automotive Consultant employed with Innovative Works in New
Baltimore, MI.
Bill was the founder and very involved with SMAFF (St. Clair-Macomb
Amateur Fastpitch Federation), enjoyed cooking and camping, time with
his family particularly his grandchildren, building computers and
repairing computers for friends and family, reading and studying
technical Automotive Manuals, gardening and farming with an
appreciation for John Deere equipment and also an avid OSU Buckeye Fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister
Darlene Plessinger and brother-in-law Eddie Stover.
Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn (Karnehm) Worthen of Algonac,
MI. They were married March 23, 1974. Also children Channon
“Bill” (Jennifer) Worthen of East China, MI and Erica (Kevin) Turner of
Sidney, Ohio; grandchildren Blake Worthen, Will Fisher, Ashlee Worthen,
Maggie Turner, Claire Turner and Ellie Turner; brother Robert Gene
(Annie) Worthen of Greenville; sisters Phyllis Jane Stover of New
Madison and Kay (Gary) Tillman of Georgia as well as numerous nieces
and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday August 3, 2017 in
the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Joe
LeMaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville
Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on
Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of the services in the funeral home.
