Burkholder
Elizabeth “Betty” Burkholder, age 81 formerly of Greenville, Ohio
passed away at 2:00 PM Monday March 20, 2017 at the Ohio Living Home
Health Westminster Thurber in Columbus, Ohio. Betty was born
January 10, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio and the daughter of the late Robert
E. and Minevieve (Myers) Mills.
She was retired from the Greenville City School System where she had
taught Special Education and prior she had taught 2nd grade at Franklin
Monroe. She was a very active member of the St. John Lutheran
Church of Greenville, a member of the Daughters of the American
Revolution and a graduate of The Ohio state University.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband
Ralph Herman Burkholder August 23, 2009. Also an infant son Roger
in June 1959.
Betty is survived by her children Robert (Vicki) Burkholder of
Galloway, Ohio and Kathy Jo Burkholder (Bruce Epps) of Columbus;
granddaughter Addy as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday March 25, 2017 in the
St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N. Greenville, Ohio with
Pastor Brian McGee and Pastor Greg Roth co-officiating. Burial
will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. The
family will receive friends on Saturday March 25, 2017 from 10:00 AM
until time of the services in the church.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
Wernle Youth and Family Center, St. John Lutheran Church or the Life
Care Fund of the Ohio Living Home Health Westminster-Thurber of
Columbus.
