Thomas
Catherine (Platt) Thomas, 97, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on
Friday May 19, 2017 at 12:39 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community.
She was born on March 3, 1920 in Whitewater, Indiana, daughter of the
late Omer and Ina (Jones) Platt.
She was a retired Dairy Farmer raising Holstein Friesian Cattle in
Hollansburg community. A retired member if the Holstein Friesian
state and national association, and Coba and Darke Rural Electric, she
was also a member of the Hollansburg Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of
66 years, R. Harrison (Harry) Thomas; brothers-in-law Karl Thomas and
Myron Thomas, nephews, Darrell Thomas, Dicky Joe Metzcer; and niece
Mary Hart.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Juanita
Thomas; daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Don York and Paula and
Terry DeWeese; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three
great-grandsons; and sister-in-law, Eileen Dill; as well as nieces and
nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM
at the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel, 750 Chestnut Street,
Greenville, Ohio. A private graveside service will be held at the
Hollansburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
Hollansburg Christian Church, the Brethren Retirement Community
Resident Aid Fund, or State of the Heart Care.
