Helen P. Hoover
Helen P. Hoover, 95, of New Madison, went to be with the Lord on May
24, 2017 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
Helen was born August 3, 1921 in Gilmore County, West Virginia, to the
late Charles and Frances (Ratcliff) Lamb.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first
husband, Herald Williams in 1941, and her second husband, Kenneth
Hoover, in 1969; two sisters, Ina and Bonnie; three brother, Lynn,
Claude and Harley.
Helen was a quality control inspector for Corning Glass retiring after
27 years and belonged to the Corning Retirees. She loved to read and
was active with the New Madison Library. She was a member of the Widows
Club, Unit 245 of the American Legion Auxiliary in New Madison, and a
50+ year member of the Eastern Star, Fort Black Chapter.
Helen is survived by her Son, Harold Duane and wife Patricia Hoover of
New Paris; two grandchildren, Joseph and wife Jona Hoover of
Greenville, and Christal McConnell and her special friend Mark of
Kalida, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Catherine Nicholson, Cassandra
McConnell, Coy McConnell and Emma Hoover; one step great grandchild,
JohnRay Aboa; and one great-great grandchild, Silas Gile; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11am Friday, June 2, 2017
at Greenmound Cemetery with pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating.
