Myrtle M. Holsapple
Cox
Myrtle M. Holsapple Cox, age 77, of Greenville passed away at 2:00 PM
on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Brookdale of Greenville. Myrtle was born
July 16, 1939, in Darke County to the late J. Wesley & Susie
(White) Wogoman.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Larry G. Cox whom she married July
26, 1996; children, Dave & Bea Holsapple of Castine, John &
Roxi Holsapple of Castine and Steve Holsapple of New Madison;
step-children, Kathy & Tom Sackett of Pataskala, Connie Klosterman
of Greenville, Rex & Paddy Cox of Greenville and Renee & George
Knick of Greenville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1
great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Alice Godown of Arcanum; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Walter Gene
Holsapple; daughter, Teresa Broderick; grandson, Wesley Holsapple;
brother, Aaron Wogoman; and sister, Betty Dowler.
Myrtle was a homemaker and formerly worked at Fram Corporation in
Greenville. She attended the Greenville Missionary Church. She served
on the Castine City Council for 18 years and was the former Village
Treasurer of Castine. Myrtle was a longtime member of the Greenville
Moose, Eagles and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Myrtle was a former
Notary of Public.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2017,
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser
officiating. Burial will follow in Castine Cemetery. The family will
receive friends on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association or State of the Heart Care.
