David Allen Fornshil
David Allen Fornshil, age 86 of Wayne Lakes, Ohio passed away at 6:47
AM Sunday October 8, 2017 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville,
Ohio. Dave was born April 29, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio and
the son of the late Winfield Dean and Edna Lucille (Campbell) Fornshil.
Dave was a Veteran of the US Navy serving as an Aviation Electronic
Technician during the Korean War. Following his Naval service he
attended ITT Technical Institute in Indiana for 3 years and later
retired in 1993 from GTE of Troy, Ohio as a foreman and switch worker
having installed the first electronic telephone office in Ohio.
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville, the
Germantown Masonic Lodge, served on the Wayne Lakes Village Council and
had coached boy’s baseball. Dave enjoyed going RV’ing with his wife
Marilyn and fishing, computer and electronic equipment. Dave was
also a lifelong HAM Radio operator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughters
Rachael Elizabeth Bass and Infant McNutt and a brother Donald Fornshil.
Dave is survived by his wife Marilyn Elizabeth (Foster) Fornshil of
Wayne Lakes. They were married August 15, 1954. His
children Rebecca Hatfield of Middletown, Ohio, Debra (Rodney) McNutt of
Wayne Lakes, Lisa Pasch of Pendleton, Indiana, Dean (Christine)
Fornshil of Dayton and Chris (Ronda) Fornshil of Wayne Lakes;
grandchildren Jesse Hatfield, Trisha Allison, Allison Roberts,
Christopher Fornshil, Steven Fornshil, Maggie Salem, Andrew Fornshil,
Jamie Welch and Matthew Fornshil; great grandchildren Brandilyn
Allison, Gage Allison, Rowan Hawes, Dayne Roberts, Cam Fornshil, Landen
Roberts, Jordyn Welch, Zoey Fornshil, Khaled Salem, Cora Fornshil,
Sophie Higgs, Carter Fornshil, Faith Welch and Xavier Higgs as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday October 13, 2017 in the
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Jackie Collins
officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery Ft.
Jefferson, Ohio where Graveside Military Services will be conducted by
the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. The family will
receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until time of the services in
the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
The State of the Heart Care of Darke County or the American Alzheimer’s
Association.
